EnCana contracted Praxis to design and implement a comprehensive stakeholder consultation process. The program objectives included determining stakeholders\’ knowledge of EnCana; understanding external perceptions of EnCana\’s approach to corporate responsibility; and identifying strategic gaps at the corporate level.

The first phase involved a random telephone survey of 2,700 individuals from the general public within three provinces and three states including Alberta, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, Texas, Wyoming, and Colorado. This survey measured public awareness and perceptions of EnCana.

In the second phase, Praxis developed a random telephone survey to gauge public awareness, perceptions and understanding of EnCana\’s operations within ten geographic regions where it conducts business. The second random survey focused on the general public who were aware of EnCana. This survey involved 14,476 high-level interviews and 4,328 in-depth interviews representing 602,000 households in 229 communities.

In the third phase, Praxis assembled a field team that conducted 660 in-depth, one-on-one interviews with a range of stakeholders in the ten geographic regions of operation.

Praxis prepared a series of quantitative and qualitative reports and presentations detailing both collective results and feedback specific to each geographic region.
