The Northern River Basins Study (NRBS) Task Force retained Praxis to develop a comprehensive socio-economic database. The Team gathered all pertinent socio-economic data for the Peace-Athabasca and Slave River basins. As part of this assignment all data was organized with GIS co-ordinates. The final database included the following data: population and demographic; labour force and income; infrastructure; hospital and health care; agriculture; tourism; forestry; commercial fishing, trapping, hunting and guiding; electrical generation; oil and gas activity; and coal production, manufacturing and transportation activities. Praxis worked with the NRBS GIS specialist to input the data into its GIS system.
