Bison Pipeline Ltd., (now Teresan) a subsidiary of TransMountain Pipelines Limited, proposed construction of a 516 km heated pipeline from the Athabasca oil sands to the Edmonton area. Teresan retained Praxis to design and implement public consultation programs to maximize public awareness of the pipeline project.
The consultation program covered a range of activities from the initial project announcement through to pipeline and facility operations. Responsible for all aspects of the public consultation program, Praxis designed an overall strategy and timeline identifying target audiences and specific consultation activities. We also created an extensive contact database and tracking system to monitor activities throughout the project.
In addition, the Team prepared and produced all supporting communication materials, including fact sheets, information backgrounders, give-away coffee mugs, display panels, and press releases. Throughout the project, Praxis provided on-site operational support (e.g. booking venues, organizing events, assisting Bison staff).
