Timeframe | 2002 to Present |
AltaLink is the owner of Transalta Utilities Limited transmission lines and substations across Alberta. In addition to upgrading existing transmission lines, AltaLink is planning new lines and substations throughout the province. Altalink has contracted Praxis to plan and deliver many of its stakeholder consultation processes. These included performing legal land title searches; designing and producing landowner communication packages; conducting personal meetings with landowners to review routing options and to identify issues and concerns; contacting all government agencies, industry and other stakeholders; and preparing submissions for the Alberta Utilities Commission (Formerly the Alberta Energy and Utilities Board).
For each AltaLink project, Praxis develops a web-based relational database to track all contacts that are made during the project, using its STS©. All databases reside on the Praxis server during the project regulatory review, after which they are transitioned to AltaLink’s server for ongoing use and archiving. All databases are not only password protected and encrypted to meet AltaLink’s security requirements but also designed to meet P.E.P.I.D.A. and the P.I.P.A. privacy requirements.
