Talisman Energy contracted Praxis to develop both an overall corporate strategy for community relations and a regionally specific strategy for the Grande Prairie region. Research for the project involved meetings with senior executives and Talisman staff; scoping interviews with relevant regional stakeholders; benchmarking analysis; and, a comprehensive review of internal and external documents and reports.

The corporate community relations strategy acted as the foundation for the regional strategy; it included vision and value statements, overall objectives, strategies and activities. The regional strategy, guided by the vision and values in the corporate strategy, provided Grande Prairie specific objectives, strategies and activities. Upon completion of the community relations strategy Talisman developed an implementation plan, which included the development of a series of backgrounders to support the management, staff and contractors in the regional offices.
