Public and Stakeholder Consultation
Project Name | Alberta Workers' Compensation Board: Benefits Policy Review Consultation |
---|---|
Client | Alberta Workers Compensation Board |
Project Type | Provincial Government |
Timeframe | 1996 to 1997 |
During 1996-1997, Praxis advised the Senior Management Steering Committee on the development of its consultation process for the benefits policy review. The Committee publicly “kicked-off” the process in February 1998. Praxis developed the consultation registration database and the databases for each of the eight major consultation components.
The components included services for workers with severe injuries; recording and reporting accidents; vocational planning and services; return to work; loss of earnings and determination of compensation rate; relationship between accident and employment; compensation over-payments; and the application of new evidence. Each of these components involved a separate consultation consisting of a background paper distributed for public comment; review of the paper in a stakeholder workshop(s) facilitated and recorded by Praxis; and preparation of the “What You Told Us” discussion paper. The overall three-year process concluded in 2000.
