Client | Petro-Canada Oil and Gas |
Project Type | Research Studies |
Timeframe | 1983 |
Petro-Canada retained Praxis to conduct a study on mine employees. Using the Canstar data base of 1,800 individuals, Praxis isolated data on mine employees and conducted a statistical analysis. The analysis included a comparison of the characteristics of present and previous employees, comparisons with the regional labour force, and an assessment of the characteristics of those who arrived during the ”boom” periods of Canadian economic development. These comparisons were made to the two-digit level of the CCDO classification system (Statistics Canada).
Finally, Praxis developed a series of employee profiles, outlining characteristics of 20 employee groups. In addition, Praxis identified the requirements for most appropriate housing, community services, recruitment, training and other aspects.
