Timeframe | 1995 to 1996 |
Under the auspices of CIDA-IDRC, Richard Roberts prepared and delivered a three-week training program at the Centre for Natural Resources and Environmental Studies (CRES), University of Hanoi, Vietnam. The program consisted of two modules: socio-economic impact assessment and public consultation. The class of thirty participants included representatives from the federal department of environment, provincial environmental ministries and institutes from across Vietnam. CRES requested that all materials be developed and presented in English; it provided simultaneous translation in the classroom.
The course included classroom lectures, role playing, gaming simulations, case studies and small working groups. All materials were developed by Praxis for delivery of this training workshop. CRES invited Richard to return in 1996 to deliver these training workshops to the new class. CRES identified these modules as their “highest choice priority.”
