---|---|
Client | Parks Canada |
Project Type | Facilitation |
Timeframe | 1999 |
Parliament approved the Banff National Park (BNP) new management plan in April 1997, in which the government committed to holding an annual public process to examine the progress toward implementation of the plan. In October 1999, the second annual BNP Planning Forum was held, bringing together Parks Canada staff, key sectoral representatives and members of the public. The Forum sought to update participants on the status of implementation, ongoing constraints, and to obtain input from participants on major current issues and proposals associated with the BNP Management Plan implementation process.
Parks Canada contracted Praxis to facilitate the two-day Forum; design a process for participant feedback on BNP proposals; analyze the evaluation; and prepare a report based on the results.
